Godig switched from PowerApps to Appfarm – wins Innovation Award
Appfarm partner Godig experienced limitations using PowerApps for complex application development. When approached by their customer Skanska regarding a highly complex use case with the need for offline support, they decided to develop in Appfarm. Their solution ended up winning Skanska's Innovation Award.
Challenge
The construction industry has several niche operations and needs when it comes to digital solution, that can’t be found in off-the-shelf software. Skanska needed a digital solution to oversee and manage tunnel-building projects from start to finish. This operation was previously handled with manual processes, and when they were to digitalize the entire process, they needed a digital solution that could integrate with other tools and systems, and have offline support as there is no connection in the tunnels.
Solution
The solution was developed by one and a half developers at Godig. Godig had previously worked with PowerApps, but found that it lacked the functionality the solution required, and decided to move it over to Appfarm. They also required offline functionality which Appfarm didn't support at the time, but was then implemented in the platform.
