Challenges faced by client

Tide has an extensive portfolio of buses and light rails in Norway and abroad. They manage more than 5000 bus drivers who need daily schedules and route information, and to report errors and maintenance requests for their buses. This was all handled manually, and the drivers received their schedules on a printed piece of paper in the morning. Tide also performs maintenance on more than 2200 buses, which was also logged and processed manually with pen and paper. This resulted in a lack of control and flexibility in resource management and no real-time data and information on bus maintenance and error reporting.

No-code solution process

When Tide approached Appfarm to turn these manual and time-consuming processes into a digital solution, Appfarm began developing their new application. In a short time, the app was up and running, and Tide attended the introduction course to Appfarm’s no-code platform.

After the three-day course, the developers at Tide were able to take over the continuing development of their application with assistance from Appfarm solution engineers where needed. This is a great example of an enterprise case, where the development and ownership is gradually transferred to the customer as the competency level on the platform increases.
